The Tang Yun Art Museum, an ancient-style Jiangnan garden architecture, officially opened in May 1999 and covers an area of 7,000 square meters. It is situated on the South Line of West Lake, adjacent to Changqiao Park to the south, facing the Wansong Ridge to the east, close to the Liulang Tingying to the north, and complementing the Leifeng Pagoda to the west.
The museum houses a collection of 195 art treasures donated by the family of contemporary Chinese painting master Tang Yun to the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government. This includes 38 works by Mr. Tang Yun, 106 calligraphy and painting collections, and 51 Mansheng pots, along with related documents of Mr. Tang Yun.
Serving as an important window for cultural exchanges, the Tang Yun Art Museum bridges the West Lake Scenic Area and Hangzhou City. It has hosted numerous colorful exchange exhibitions and has been recognized as a ‘Cultural Brand of Hangzhou’. The museum is open to the public from January 1st to December 31st, with operating hours from 08:30 to 16:30.
