Tam Kung Temple

Located at the end of Rua de Outubro, close to the small Hengqin Island in mainland China, this temple was built during the Qing Tongzhi period and has a history of over a century. It is the most popular temple in Coloane, dedicated to Tam Kong, and features a dragon boat carved from whale bone, a relic that is over a hundred years old. It is believed that touching the whale bone brings good luck, so worshippers often do so after making their offerings. Additionally, a large stone outside the temple inscribed with the character for “goose” is a distinctive landmark in the area.
