Macau World Heritage Site
The name “Lilau” means “mountain spring” in Portuguese. This area was once a primary water source for Macau and is close to the Inner Harbour, making it one of the earliest settlement sites for the Portuguese in Macau. A popular local saying goes: “Drink from Lilau Spring, and you will never forget Macau; either you settle here or return nevermore.”
