The mountain boasts unique natural landscapes and a wealth of cultural landscapes. Amid the flat fields, a peak rises, covered with lush greenery, resembling a massive green sphere from a distance. Surrounding the mountain, the Luxi River flows, creating deep and secluded valleys. Strange rocks are scattered throughout the mountain, alongside towering ancient trees, and birds such as magpies, white cranes, and herons dance gracefully.

Originally named Bao Feng, the mountain later became known as Black Stone Mountain due to its many peculiar black stones. There are approximately 500 boulders on the mountain, scattered in various sizes and shapes, with round and thick forms, diverse appearances, and a rugged and uneven distribution. Notable rocks such as Eagle Beak Stone, Han Gu Stone, Double Frog Stone, and Er Lang Stone have all left behind touching legends that have been chanted for centuries.

The mountain houses temples from the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as the well-preserved Qing dynasty academy in Chongqing, Ju Kui Academy. Additionally, there is Chen Duxiu’s residence in Bai Sha, He Nian Hall. The exterior of ‘He Nian Hall’ is modeled after Japanese architecture, while the interior is designed in the style of a Roman opera house, once known as the largest auditorium in Eastern Sichuan. The scenic area includes handwritten inscriptions, stone carvings, poems, and couplets by historical figures such as Feng Yuxiang, Yu Youren, Wu Mi, and Ouyang Jian, totaling over seventy locations. Among the greenery of Mei Lin and Zi Jin Lin, there are graves of historical figures from the Xinhai Revolution, Xiao Xiang, as well as the poet Wu Fangji, historian and calligrapher Deng Shaoqin, and the painter Zhang Caiqin (known as the ‘Ju Kui San Jie’). The opening hours are from January 1st to December 31st, from 07:00 to 17:00.
